Deep Dish Theater Company AnnouncesDEEP DISH BEGINNING ACTING CLASSESSUNDAY EVENINGS, STARTING SEPTEMBER 14, 2008 CHAPEL HILL— The Deep Dish Theater Company will again offer an introductory acting class this fall, beginning Sunday, September 14. Actress and teacher Jill Holmquist will lead the class, which will meet Sunday evenings from 5:30-8:30 PM for six weeks. Students will work on a series of exercises, selected scenes and monologues designed to free the imagination and develop the capacity to perform with honesty and spontaneity. The objective is learn how to play and take risks, and the class is also a great preparation for interviews, presentations and auditions. Cost for the class is $200. Jill Holmquist received her BFA in Theater from Emerson College, Boston, and her MA in Communications from San Francisco State University. She studied at the HB Studio in NY, with the Royal Shakespeare company in England, at the Jean Shelton School and the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, and with Jeff Corey and Stella Adler. She has acted in commercials, industrials, and on stage, directed stage productions in San Francisco and San Jose, California, and produced for both television and with Shakespeare in the Park in California. All classes will meet at the Deep Dish Theater in Chapel Hill’s University Mall, located on Estes Drive and US 15-501.
