"Special Topics in Calamity Physics," is the acclaimed first novel of Asheville native Marisha Pessl. The New York Times said of Pessl’s comic coming of age/mystery novel that "[h]er exhilarating synthesis of the classic and the modern, frivolity and fate -- Pnin meets The O.C. -- is a poetic act of will," and named it one of the ten best books of the year.
Ms. Brzozowski is the Circulation Supervisor at the Carrboro Cybrary and is a student in Library Science at UNC-CH.
